I used to love going into the old Ben Franklin stores! This looks like a perfectly good ghost sign. They don't have Ben Franklin stores anymore, right?
Grain elevators buy and store grain from local farmers and then sell it world wide. Elevators also sell farm supplies like seed and chemicals. They play an important economic part on the prairie.
Great signs and wonderful to see the grain elevators so well cared for. I like the ghost sign, too. I have to say the Orvis sign really captured my attention, though! ;-)
We have a smaller similar structure inside the cargo port and it is still used.
ReplyDeleteLove the grain elevator. So many of them are disappearing from our landscapes.

ReplyDeleteTwo things we don't have here so a glimpse of a different world.
