Private Doors on Main Avenue

  1. I'll bet they have apartments above first-floor shops/offices and people tend to try to open those doors and let themselves in.

We have people living in former model homes and the same thing happens. People come along and try to walk right in. So the powers-that-be had to erect signs noted these were "Private Residences." :-)

  2. It does look like an office door. Not surprised the notice needed. (Especially for people like me who march confidently into solicitors' offices thinking I was arriving at the hairdressers.)

  3. I'm beginning to sense a theme here this week. You're making everyday objects we take for granted interesting.

    1. Thank you, Ed. That thought had occurred to me, and I was hoping someone else would also see that.

    1. I also remember that book, but was disappointed with my "door" pictures when I got home from Dublin. They didn't compare well to what is in the book.

    1. It is classic "Art Deco" which is one of my favorite styles.

  8. The one labeled 'Private Residence' looks like a business, I can see why they put the sign on the door. That's a cool roof over that door - very retro.

  9. I'd steer clear of these. Not my pleasure.

    1. Mas uma vez que o limiar não há como dizer o que vai encontrar lá dentro.
      Tenha uma ótima semana.
