I'll bet they have apartments above first-floor shops/offices and people tend to try to open those doors and let themselves in.
We have people living in former model homes and the same thing happens. People come along and try to walk right in. So the powers-that-be had to erect signs noted these were "Private Residences." :-)
It does look like an office door. Not surprised the notice needed. (Especially for people like me who march confidently into solicitors' offices thinking I was arriving at the hairdressers.)
I tend to agree with Hans : the doors are really awesome : I'm in love with the first one, very modern style architecture... And the reflection are just perfect !
Great, different reflections for the day! I love them! Hope you have a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by/commenting on my blog!! Always appreciated!
The one labeled 'Private Residence' looks like a business, I can see why they put the sign on the door. That's a cool roof over that door - very retro.

ReplyDeleteI'm beginning to sense a theme here this week. You're making everyday objects we take for granted interesting.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ed. That thought had occurred to me, and I was hoping someone else would also see that.
DeleteDoors are wonderful! I remember a great book, Doors of Dublin! I love that book!
ReplyDeleteI also remember that book, but was disappointed with my "door" pictures when I got home from Dublin. They didn't compare well to what is in the book.
Delete...and great reflections too!

ReplyDeleteIt is classic "Art Deco" which is one of my favorite styles.

ReplyDeleteThat roof over the door was what first drew my eye.
DeleteI'd steer clear of these. Not my pleasure.
ReplyDeleteMe too, I've walk past these doors for years and never crossed the thresholds.
DeleteI love to photograph doors! And here are two interesting ones. Great reflections!
ReplyDelete:)
Thank you.
DeleteBeautiful b&w photos!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes!
Thank you for your visit and comment.
DeletePortas podem refletir muito do que há no interior...Um abraço!
ReplyDeleteO mirante da imagem
Mas uma vez que o limiar não há como dizer o que vai encontrar lá dentro.
DeleteTenha uma ótima semana.
Always wondered what it would be like to live downtown like that!
ReplyDeleteJoli coups d oeil ;o)
