This equipment could have been in my dentist's surgery and in my optician's office when I was young. That drill is still an instrument I remember being painful. The dentist only used novocain on the largest fillings, so most of the time is was just put up with the pain, and don't move. Thankfully dentistry has come a long way.

Thank goodness! I remember this well. Interesting shots.
ReplyDeleteScary stuff! Going to the dentist is not quite this stressful now.
ReplyDeleteDid you really have to post these instruments of torture. Well, the optical stuff's no big deal but that dental equipment. I hated going to the dentist as a kid. It always hurt! Bad!
ReplyDeleteTrue for us all. This photo brings many of us the memory of pain.
DeleteOf the past? The bottom scene isn't too different from my current dentist's office.
ReplyDeleteHope you current dentist has more contemporary equipment, especially the water cooled, high speed drills which reduces some of the pain. Dentistry has made some advances in the last century ;-)
