Blazing Saddles was released in 1974, and Alex Karras played the small part of Mongo, a thuggish type who only had one line. "Don't know...Mongo only pawn in game of life." This was a Mel Brooks western parody starring Cleavon Little, Gene Wilder, and Madalyn Kahn.
I wish there were more "Need Help?" signs around that had buttons to push...I'd be pushing as soon as I crawled out of bed in the morning!
ReplyDeleteBut Mongo's Yard I don't understand. Who needs to advertise his yard? Maybe Mongo, I guess!
Hi Lowell. Perhaps this is a warning to everyone else to avoid Mongo. I assume the reference comes from Blazing Saddles.
ReplyDeleteI guess Mongo is mean!
ReplyDeleteI'm pressing the help button to figure out who or what Mongo is. ;-)
ReplyDeleteMy SIGN
Hi Lindy, there is no telling just what Mongo is. Some say it is an alien, but I don't know about that.
DeleteMongo's gate is great.
ReplyDeleteI need that sign -- I wish I could just push a button!
ReplyDeleteI wish we have buttons to push around here for Help.:p
ReplyDeleteMongo is probably watching TV.:p

DeleteI wonder if Mongo is friendly?
ReplyDeletewell, I remember Blazing Saddles, but not this reference specifically.
ReplyDeleteit is nice that mongo has a satellite dish in his yard.
We can only imagine that Mongo has retired from being the town bully, and is now spending his time watching TV using this satellite dish.
