Crane Mural, Kearny, Nebraska


Every spring from March to April about 600,000 Sandhill Cranes stop along the Platt River near Kearney. They feed for several weeks in local harvested corn fields to gain energy to make the rest of their migration to Alaska and Siberia.

    Sandhill cranes are familiar to us here in central Florida also...we have quite a few of them and I, for one, find them to be delightful birds. That's a beautiful mural!
