Makes you realize that the hood ornament actually evolved from a practical device... a temperature gauge if I am not mistaken.

There was a time when every car had a pretty classy hood ornament.
The Pontiac's ornament was my choice.
I have always liked those also. Stay tune.

A fine detail. The car museum in Naples has several cases with "badges" (I think that is what they called them). I called them hood ornaments.
