Bridal Vail Falls, Spearfish Canyon

  1. What a lovely place to take a hike. I'm going to go there the next time someone says to me, "Take a hike!"

Re the rock - yes, it's limestone. Actually, it's coquina, which was formed eons ago from limestone mixed with various shells and other earthy things. It's found all over this area and can be quite beautiful.

  2. Bridal Veil is a popular name for falls like this. There's one close by in NH that we've climbed.

  3. It does rather look like a bridal veil hanging over the mountain TFG.
