These are frogs, not toads. To be more exact they are Lithobates pipiens, more commonly known as Northern Leopard frogs. Came across these two while walking at Oakwood Lakes State Park.
They are not as small as you might think. Those tire treads are from giant 4x4 pickup trucks. This is an "off road" area. The frogs are about four inches long.
Mmmm..... frogs or toads? Is there a difference? I'm still looking for some signs of spring here.

ReplyDeleteVery good sign of spring.
Little beauties! ;-)
ReplyDeleteCute frog, I think I have seen this Leopard frog before. Great shots.. Thank you for linking up, have a great weekend! Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteThey must be tiny, judging by the tyre marks. Great capture!

DeleteOh what cute little frogs! I guess they'll soon be here too!
ReplyDeleteOh, how sweet! I've only seen green frogs here in NZ.
ReplyDeleteFrogs a hopping and robins pulling the heads off off worms seen today on a road trip.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the frog came along a little later than the truck that made the track, or we would have a very ugly pic of a splattered frog today.
ReplyDeleteCute frogs! Ours aren't awake yet.
ReplyDeleteFour inches.. that's quite a big frog TFG.. Their markings are so precise! I thought the same as Jack when I saw the tyre tracks :)
