Hey Jeff, yeah that's what I did for a living, drove concrete truck, they have some real big pumps nowadays for those high -rise buildings in the big towns..... nice pictures...
Thanks Scott. Had I been about 30 seconds later the concrete truck would have been gone. Just got the shot. The pump is an amazing process to watch. It is fast and efficient.
Hi VP. The decision to use a pump was the concrete contractors. With it I suspect they can use a smaller crew and be finished faster with less physical effort. I thought the process interesting.
Doesn't it look like a huge insect's legs? Perhaps a grasshopper's? And yes, I like watching them, too. They are a common sight around here - perhaps because everything is smaller? A very efficient means in this case, i.e. not much space.
I do many tasks that I'm glad I didn't have to do for a living such as replace mufflers and tailpipes on cars, or roof houses. Glad there are people who want to do these things. Feel free to make all the puns you want. I always enjoy them.

DeleteThis is not usual here, but I have seen it done sometimes...

ReplyDeleteYes, a grasshopper's leg would be right. Grasshoppers are plentiful just now, but concrete pumps not so much.
DeleteThis emphasizes to me that there are many, many ways to earn a living, and most of us take a lot of this stuff for granted. (No pun intended.)
