Not sure I can find it here, but I like the sign!
I actually have too look up what that is :)MersadMersad Donko Photography
This is an historic sign, recently restored. Don't think the bread is made any more. It was a soft, commercial bread like Wonderbread. Not my favorite.
I remember when bakeries delivered bread. Standing outside the trucks smelled delicious.
Such a big sign for a little bread :)Why did they restore the sign if the bread is not made any more?
This sign has been a prominent part of the landscape in Des Moines, Iowa for 70 years or more. Think the City wanted it working.
I too have memories of the aroma emanating from the Colonial baker we once had here. Noting like it for bringing forth warm memories.
My frat house backed up on a commercial bakery. The smells coming from it were terrific, but the bread was quite ordinary, a disappointment really.
That is a wonderful sign!
Now this is SPECIAL! Tom The Backroads Traveller
I'll try it, just tell me where! ;-)
Great sign!
I love bread and that sign!
America might have made pretty forgettable bread back in those days, but we excelled in sign-making.
