    1. Karl, I don't think so, but I've seen one disturbing trend. Chinese restaurants now seem to feature sushi which is, of course, not Chinese.

  2. I am guessing... but a non franchise 50 year old restaurant usually close when the owners retire.

  3. If all the cowboys might have shown up, they might have saved the place for another week.

    1. They were waiting to ride as guards on the 1880 Train, a steam train from Hill City to Keystone, SD. They dress in period costume, and the six shooters are very real. This train has never been robbed, and the tourists behave.

    1. There are a couple of other good Chinese restaurants in town. Try the Golden Bowl.

  7. Seems after fifty years the owners deserve a big party to honour their efforts in business and in feeding all those hungry people who came through those doors!

  10. I'm not one for Chinese food, so I wouldn't have helped keep them in business. Nice sign, though.

  11. If the same family has managed this business, maybe it's retiring time. Still, so sad that such an iconic venture can't continue.

  12. That's a neat old sign. Really stands out on the street, too.
