A few years ago I rented a Smart Car for a couple days. The inside is as roomy as any small car, but getting into it feels odd as there is very little car behind the driver's seat. They drive just fine and get around 60 MPG. The diesel ones do even better. They are great around town and will run highway speeds, but it's unnerving to look up at truck tires.
In the U.S. they are gas engine. In Europe and Canada they also off a diesel motor. Perhaps they now have an electric version, but I think these are gas powered.
Looks like a set! His and Hers?
ReplyDeleteTwo small sweet smart cars :)
ReplyDeleteDouble the fun!
ReplyDeleteNot one, but two Smart! Almost incredible!

ReplyDeleteYou see a lot of them for rent here!
ReplyDeleteI see nothing smart about these dumb cars! :)
ReplyDeleteBut Lowell, look at the picture. It is 2 Smarts.
DeleteWe have plenty of them here , but I guess they're unusual in Usa , where lots of people have big cars ..
ReplyDeleteThey are not unusual in San Diego. I've seen lots of them, but in other parts of the country they are not so common.
DeleteWell... they may be dumb but they are sometimes the only way to find a parking space in Paris...
ReplyDeleteThey make great sense in congested cities. They get around just fine, use little fuel, and as you say, are easy to park.
Deleteare they the ones that charge by electricity?

DeleteI'm sure they're very politically and environmentally correct - but give me a 'dumb' car any day!!
