Interesting! At least the road going into the lake is closed! Question: If two cars meet in the middle of the one-lane road, which one backs up first?
That lake may have covered the road about 20 years ago when the water table in this area seems to have risen. Since the land is so flat cars can see each other and one just waits until the other has passed, but there is so little traffic here that meeting another car is unlikely.
Really? No pellet holes in the second sign? What's wrong there? /irony off;-)
I think the "Road Closed" sign is on private property, so perhaps no wandering, gun toting strangers have come by looking for target practice.
The first picture: That's not a road you want to meet oncoming traffic!
target practice--that's what i thought.:pbetter the sign than a living, breathing creature.Signs
That poor sign! You have some really great light in your first image. Both images look like great places to see wildlife - deer, coyote, waterfowl, etc.
We see deer and waterfowl all the time in this countryside. Coyotes are more shy and are seldom seen, but I know they are there. Sometimes we can hear them calling to each other.
Love seeing these sort of roads.
Using signs for target practise is common sight on dirt roads like this.
The top sign has been "lightly" peppered with rifle and shotgun fire. Perhaps I will post a sign that has been truly riddled.
I like roads like these that are unencumbered by side rails and other automobiles!
In my experience, Road Closed = something good photographically. I drive a one-lane bridge every day, it gets interesting at rush-hour :-(
Hah! This is one of your best pairings.
