These could be ex-military vehicles. A friend offered to buy them, but the owner turned his offer down. I suspect the owner loved these trucks back in the 1960s and over values them.
I'm going to guess by looking that its a mid to late 50's longnose autocar with a Intergal Sleeper. It probably also had a tag axle, non-driven. And more than likely powered by a 220 cummins diesel. My father hauled frozen chickens behind one when I was a youngster. "Great Memories"!!
I remember these so well, rumbling through our town.
ReplyDeleteThere are two of these sitting on the same vacant lot. Neither one runs, but despite the "For Sale" sign the owner won't part with them.
DeleteI still remember these truck going around...
ReplyDeleteLook like military vehicles! Why does the owner have a "For Sale" sign if he doesn't want to sell them?
ReplyDeletePeople are funny!

DeleteI've never seen anything like that down here.
ReplyDeleteThese are old trucks, perhaps from the early 1950s. At this point most of them have gone to the crusher for recycling.
