Dignity

This sculpture is by Dale Lampher. He donated it to the state of South Dakota. It is about 50 feet high, and is amazing to see. The statue depicts a Native American woman. It is to honor the cultures of Lakota and Dakota people, and symbolizes courage, perseverance, and wisdom of these two tribes. It is located at an Interstate rest stop along I-90 near Chamberlin, South Dakota.

  3. It is impressive. I have no idea why, but I'd like it better if it weren't quite so big. I think its message gets diluted by its gargantuation nature. Don't be angry with me--- I am still impressed.
