That is a C-band dish antenna that is not often used for home reception anymore. Newer home antennas receive Ku band which can be smaller and are easier to mount on the house.
I love the look of the photo... well worn house... well worn dish.
Haha, love the contrast between the 'little' house and the great satellite. Great B& W with nice depth of field. Visiting from The weekend in Black and White, have a nice weekend, Hilde http://stapjesonderweg.blogspot.be/2015/11/yes-its-fast-no-you-cant-ride-it.html#comment-form

ReplyDeleteThe house is an oldie. So is the dish. ;)
ReplyDeleteYes, that dish could be 40 years old, but the house is closer to 100.
DeleteOld and modern, what a contrast !
ReplyDeleteThank you.
ReplyDeleteIf you've got a house - any old house - and a satellite dish, you're all set!
ReplyDeleteThat's a BIG dish.
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to get rid of those old dishes. Great shot!
ReplyDeleteThey're both old, but in terms of what they represent, the dish is more "ancient". Very interesting shot.
