  3. I'll bet some farmer put in many long hours getting those patterns down properly! Farming is difficult even with all the new equipment. But I always enjoyed the time spent on a farm.

    1. During planting and harvest farmers do put in long hours. A fellow named Phil T. Farnsworth looked at these lines as he was running farm machinery and thought to invent a vacuum tube painting electronic lines on a phosphorescent screen. His invention is called television.
