The b&w shot was on the edge of a private salvage yard out in the country. Don't know if the owner ever sells anything, perhaps he just collects old junk, some people do. If restored, that 40s Ford is now collectable, but it probably wasn't when junked out. Might not be much left of it by now.
The old Dodge truck must have sat there of many decades as the wheels have sunk into the ground. The truck's bed is now a planter for flowers, and that's what drew my eye.
Greetings, my friend. Love old, rusty trucks. If you take a look at The Villages blog (http://thevillagesdailyphoto.blogspot.com) you'll note an old rusty truck in the newest "hometown" of The Villages, which is called Brownwood.
Nice finds, I always wonder why some vehicles end up out in the middle of nowhere.

ReplyDeleteI see a lot of old trucks up this way re-purposed as "flower pots" and "gardens". Seems like every nursery has one. I like these photos. Nice job!

ReplyDeleteWhat I find impressive is all the glass appears to still be there...that is hard to find for that vintage.
ReplyDeleteThese are old fellas. Cool that someone has fitted the first one out with flowers in the back.
ReplyDeleteThe end of their voyage...
ReplyDeleteBill usually cries when he sees these neat old trucks out there working their way into the soil ;>)
