What makes Indian Tacos is the use of fry bread as the base. Fry bread has a dark history as it is made of flour, salt, yeast, and fried in lard. These were the ingredients given to Indians beginning in 1864 by the Army, and have become traditional Indian food now. Toppings are usually bean and/or ground beef with cheese. tomatoes, and lettuce.
It begs the question: Native American Tacos, or Chicken Shwawarma on Naan. I'm so confused... I'm just kidding, of course. I wish I had two or three.
ReplyDeleteIndian Tacos are new to me but I do love to eat tacos.
