Arcosanti is an urban design experiment by architect Paolo Soleri to use minimal land and resources to meet the needs of about 5,000 people. Soleri died in 2001, but the community persists by catering to tourists and selling handicrafts, mostly cast metal bells and ceramics. There are now fewer than 100 people living in its remote Arizona desert location.
Oh dear the development had so much promise TFG.. sounds like an ideal place for an artist's colony, hopefully more will discover it ✨

I know it from when I was student at the academy for architecture. It made a lot of excitement in those days as were the ideas of Steve Bear and the whole earth catalogus at those days.
