The Caterpillar Thirty, 1925-1938, was a continuation of the Best 30 first built in 1921. Best and Holt merged to form the Caterpillar Tractor Company. This machine has a 7.6 liter four cylinder gas motor producing 31 drawbar and 36 belt horsepower.

Wow that is an old timer. Bod had a 1950s D5 he used it to clear the land here. Push over trees and such. I helped him put the track on too---what a job. He gave it to my daughter's husband for the ranch in Ritzville. He misses it still and that is "just because"

The Cat D-5 is a most useful size tractor. It has enough power to move lots of stuff. Perhaps Bod could barrow it back from time to time when a project calls for its unique abilities?
