I wonder why a university needs a tower, as landmark perhaps or as a look at me I am bigger then yours.
That is quite a high tower.
For sure a landmark that stands out for miles.

It's so funny the way they recreated all those types of things
Nice tower and a lovely sky. I often wonder about things like this, why universities spend so much on things like this and sports programs.
The 1929 tower was a gift from Charles Coughlin, a 1909 graduate in electrical engineering. He was president of the Briggs and Stratton Co that made all those small motors. So SDSU spent nothing on this chime tower. It chimes the hour and plays songs between classes.
Just read your reply above TFG.. I guessed that might be when it was built, there's a certain elegance about any kind of buildings constructed in that period.
At first I was wondering how you had a picture of San Diego State University--- but then I snapped out of my Sunday evening torpor and got it right. Nice shot.
I had the same momentary lapse, Bill. :)
Beautiful tower. Also... interesting cluster of brick pillars with white balls on top... and a bright white pergola...
It is very interesting. I love all the things you share and see your beautiful creation. Thank you for sharing with everyone. I know everything about you. It's great and it's great.ความงาม
What a cool structure for the bells.
A great landmark and it certainly contributes greatly to the ambience of the campus, I'm sure. Thank you for taking part in the "My Sunday Best" meme!
