Yes, many ads. The maker of this scoreboard, Daktronics, is a local company who also makes boards for most of the NFL, NBA, and baseball sports venues. The ads pay most of the costs of the board. The Jackrabbits are our local university football team, and they were playing the U. Wisc. at Oshkosh Titans, a Division 3 team. The Jacks are Division 1, so the Titans were overmatched, but they were able to kick a field goal in the 4th quarter so it wasn't a shutout.
Do people stand around with their necks craned watching the action and checking the scores? Somehow reminds me of how (a century ago or so>)) when I was a child we'd go watch TV in the appliance store window at night, because nobody had their own yet.
A lot going on there :)

DeleteThe Jacks are doing well!
ReplyDeleteIt's a great sign if you're a supporter of the Jacks.
ReplyDeleteYour comment on Photo Cache's observation was quite informative. Daktronics would be a good company to have in just about any city.
