That's a wonderful sculpture in a wonderful setting. I'm just surprised nobody's stolen Bacchus yet. In certain places in Florida it would have disappeared in five minutes! ;-)
Sioux Falls has displayed sculpture in it's downtown area for many years. The work is on display for 6-9 months, and then changed for new work. While there has been some vandalism, I don't believe any of it has been stolen. Vandalized pieces are removed for repair and then returned as quickly as possible. People generally love the idea of sculpture displayed on a changing basis, and help guard it's safety.
Very nice Bacchus.
ReplyDeleteRefreshing in the heat.

ReplyDeleteI love the sculpture of Bacchus nestled in the brick fountain.
ReplyDeleteOh, I like these photos!
ReplyDeleteVery nice! I can imagine a little winefall instead of the waterfall. :)
ReplyDeleteJames, you just assume that is water in the falls. It might just be chardonnay flowing over those stones.
DeleteLovely sculpture. I suspect it is larger then it appears.
ReplyDeleteThe bacchus sculpture is quite small. The picture does show it in the correct proportions. It isn't much more than one foot high.
