Nice.
I think there's wind chimes close by.
Great bird and its clear why it is called cardinal. Wonder if there are more clerical bird names.
At least in Germany we have a "Dompfaff" - the bullfinch. The German name references the red cap of the bird. In my youth this was a quite common bird, but it has become rare.
I always thought it was named after the Cardinals of the Pope, who wear red clothes.
Bad hair day!
Great capture of the cardinal.
It is a nice capture of Cardinal.Have a great week ahead!
Nice photo! Somehow "Candle in the Wind" by Elton John was my first thought when I saw this post.
Love that image, Jeff. The bird looks quite ruffled, most like the two-legged cardinals in Germany at the moment, because of the ongoing scandals
He looks noble.
Is he real? I honestly didn't know you had these sweeties in your neck of the woods! We never saw any until we came quite far south.
Well done! WE don't have them, so I depend on my on line friends.
Great shot, it has an almost painterly quality.Thank you for taking part in the "My Sunday Best" meme.
These are beautiful little birds!
Nice.
