This is a great find and nicely captured and rendered as usual. Looks like a place with endless photo opportunities. I particularly like the Beer sign on the old gas pump.
Is this still in business. Looks like something from the 30s or 40s. A wonderful memory jerker!
It is still in business, and has a restaurant attached also. Not sure those gas pumps are still active. Doubt it. I need to go back there to answer my questions and take more photos.
P.S. I don't remember the 30s...although I was born then...but I do remember the 40s.
Me too. It's good to be a geezer, congratulations. You also are a surviver.
I thought it was a beer pump - until I read Ed's comment :-(Sigh.
Wishful thinking there, Martina! ;)
Unfortunately Ed is right, the pump wasn't for beer, but I'm sure they had plenty of cold beer inside. Came across this place while driving back roads in Texas Hill Country.
Maybe it isn't a beer pump - but it does make it look as if the locals round there are very thirsty people!
Wouldn't know, but a number of locals were carrying on a conversation in the middle of Main Street. They seemed friendly.
wonderful b & w pictures!
Lovely B&W post!
What a cool old gas station, love those pumps!
Yes, me too. I was just driving by and had to stop when I saw this place.

Both interesting shots. The store begs loads of questions so makes one think,
I love it!
You have some fine oldfashioned places out there, Taken.
Never know what you might find in Texas Hill Country. It is a place with interesting history.
Beer pump!? Never knew they existed! Great find :)
It's in fact very complex in this active life to listen news on TV, so I only use web for that reason, and get the most up-to-date information.Feel free to visit my website on front page
