RIP Dave


This is my friend, Dave, who I worked with building Habitat For Humanity houses for the past decade. A stroke took him a month ago. It was a sudden and unexpected loss. He is greatly missed. This photo was taken last December as we finished House 63.

      Our local Habitat chapter is working on house #64, #65, and #66 this building season. Two foundations poured, and another basement dug so far.

    A nice portrait and I'm guessing that's the way he would want to be remembered - engaged in helping others. Another reminder that it call all end at any time and it's appropriate to enjoy each and every day as they are gifted to us.

    Losing a friend is almost as bad-- sometimes worse-- as losing family. I managed to score some neat goodies at our local Habitat for Humanity store last week. Great organization.

    I'm simultaneously sorry that you have lost a friend and glad you took the opportunity to mention Habitat for Humanity. I had not heard of it before and have now looked it up on Wikipedia. What a fascinating and impressive organisation! Thank you for introducing it to those of us for whom it is new.
