IH Ghost Sign and Kress Building

  1. International Harvester is still around, right? And wasn't Kress and Kresge the same thing? Or maybe I'm shooting blanks today...

    1. Samuel H. Kress began a chain of Five and Dime Stores across the country in the late 19th Century which lasted until 1981. He felt his buildings should ad art and beauty to their cities. The six story Kress building in San Antonio was constructed in 1939 in an Art Deco style with Spanish Mission influences. This building was restored in 2010 and is now the location of Texas de Brazil, a restaurant featuring Brazilian food.
