Cathedral of the Prairie

  1. I haven't had time to check blogs while travelling but I happened to open this one because 'prairie' caught my eye. I like both shots a lot. :-)

  2. I agree, a great title for these structures. They share a lot with the majesty of cathedrals. I like the texture and colors captured on the siding of the "barn". Is it still in use?

  3. Hi Wayne, VP, and Ed. Thank you for your comments. Have to admit that the title isn't original with me, but I thought it fit. The grain elevator is located in a small town that no longer has rail service or tracks, and is out of business.

Wayne, your travel photos have been wonderful. I've enjoyed them a great deal.

VP and Ed, both of you have been posting fine photos just recently.

  4. A nice pairing today, with the building at a distance and the detail of the siding.

  7. Fantastic texture! Corrugated iron is one of the greatest underrated building materials in the world today - well I think so, anyway!

  8. The first photo caught a good mixture of light and shadow.
