Frozen Hot Chocolate? Isn't that chocolate sherbet? There is nothing "hot" about it. Amateurs should not be allowed to make up signs. Kuchen is the official South Dakota dessert. This may have something to do with the high percentage of German heritage population here.

While attending the Brookings Art Festival items and people catch my eye, but it isn't often the art being displayed. When did alligator calamari get to be fair food? Note that "calimari" is misspelled, there is no telling about people who serve alligator in the Midwest.
The next few days I will be posting some images from downtown Brookings. Like all small towns Main Avenue is struggling to find an identity. Many of the major retailers have moved out to malls leaving less downtown less economically strong. Bars, cafes, thrifts, and antique shops seem to dominate these days.
For the past several weeks I've been posting photos from the past. The last two day's pictures came from Brookings, SD, and before that from San Antonio, TX. The leaf bags were shot last fall. From here on the photos should be more contemporary.
