    1. Vultures are masters of the air. They are beautiful at a distance, not so much up close. They do play an important role in the environment.

  2. We see a lot of them in certain areas of the city where they get a good updraft. They are so large.

  4. I will agree that Turkey Vultures may look gentile when flying, but when they land? They are anything but attractive! Great photo!

    1. Not necessarily. They seek rising air thermals so they can soar without flapping their wings.

  6. I see these all the time in Florida and, though less often, also in Connecticut. I admire their role in cleaning up carcasses. (Jack)
