Lake Campbell

  1. I can remember only one winter (1963) when people went by cars on ice. So there is still one nice Citroen Traction Avant to fish up for the lovers of cars.

  2. A few years back a car went through the ice here. I guy ice fishing rescued the driver and her child. The insurance would not cover her and it cost her $10,000 to retrieve her car.

  3. Looks like fun, but I'd be scared that my car would fall through.

    1. Even if the ice is thick, I am not driving out on the lake either.

  5. I wouldn't trust the ice with my car either!

  6. People are nuts! We had some 80 year old woman sky diving here at Trilogy last week. She'd probably be the first one to drive on the ice out there to try to catch a fish which she could purchase at the local market with no effort or danger whatsoever. :)

  7. I spent a winter in Duluth many years ago-- I went to a motorcycle race on the ice and was surprised that all parking--- including school buses--- was on the ice. Interesting learning how to control the car in tight quarters ON ICE.
