Old Soda Fountain
Yes, they had phosphates including Green River, malts made with real hand scooped ice cream, and sundaes in a traditionally shaped glass dish. Had their soup and half sandwich for lunch. It was like a trip back to the 1940s or 50s.
That could have been Montross Pharmacy in Winterset, yup real malteds, phosphates, and flavored cokes. The jocks would come in a bunch and order many flavors, each different, just to confuse the waitrei. The management decreed a max of two flavors per coke.
Sounds tasty.

A pleasant blast from the past.
ReplyDeleteIf I could get there I would. These were the place to go after school in my day. I remember especially Bridgeman's in Minneapolis. Soooo good.
