  1. That's no a Home Depot. I love old stores like that where the proprietor knew where everything was and could help you fix anything.

  2. You don't find many of these stores around anymore which is a shame. I've always loved to shop in them and just kind of hang out. And usually the clerks knew a lot about the goods they carried.

  4. Ah - those hardware stores are dying out fast, unfortunately. In my hometown just weeks ago a shop closed that was 420 years at that very place. But alas, it could not withstand the changing patterns of consumer behaviour

  5. That is wonderful! We had an old hardware store around the corner from us that was like that but it closed about 15 years ago. It is now a yoga studio!

  7. We have an old hardware store, but it's been totally "Aced". Very nice shots to document this wonderful place.

  8. When I told the clerk, who was probably the owner, that I liked his store he replied."What to buy the place?" The big box stores have put places like this out of business, and that is a tragic loss.

  12. Yep...this is a traditional old hardware store. I love the old ladders that can move up and down the aisle. I posted the other day The Snider Farm, and there is a piece of machinery I wanted to ask you about. I think it is a Shaver. It is tall and narrow and there are saving on the ground. Maybe it had something to do with then the Sniders cut down trees for the wood stove.
