  1. That's the year I graduated from high school. I drove a '37 Chevy! What a difference. I think my Dad had a Desoto!

Re your comment on Ocala - I think I told you the story of my dad going from LA to Detroit in 1948 (I think) to buy a new all maroon DeSoto...when he got there he didn't have his wallet - must have been stolen or fallen out of his pocket; so no ID of any kind and no money. Then they couldn't find the car he had ordered so he ended up taking a white one. What a mess. But I loved the DeSoto! I got to drive it a couple of years later!

  4. Reminds me of old shots of American presidents from that time. I don't know who your president would have been then - Eisenhower?

    1. Yes, Dwight Eisenhower was elected in 1953 and served two terms until 1960.

  5. The bus is the only think I notice here that tells me it is a contemporary photograph, not one from fifty years ago.
