Spring Frogs

  1. Mmmm..... frogs or toads? Is there a difference? I'm still looking for some signs of spring here.

    1. These are frogs, not toads. To be more exact they are Lithobates pipiens, more commonly known as Northern Leopard frogs. Came across these two while walking at Oakwood Lakes State Park.

  3. They must be tiny, judging by the tyre marks. Great capture!

    1. They are not as small as you might think. Those tire treads are from giant 4x4 pickup trucks. This is an "off road" area. The frogs are about four inches long.

  9. Four inches.. that's quite a big frog TFG.. Their markings are so precise! I thought the same as Jack when I saw the tyre tracks :)
