Old Bank Building

  1. Looks like it was made from Minnesota red sandstone. Love it. I hope it was built below grade and is not sinking! :-)

    1. The stone is Sioux Quartzite which is much harder than sandstone, but has a great red color. This stone is quarried locally. While this building was built in the 1880s that quarry is still active today. Don't think the building is sinking, at least not physically. It could be put to better use however.

  2. Exactly the kind of building I imagine for a bank!
