This candle light vigil was held in Sioux Falls, SD on January 9th, 2026 to honor Renee Nicole Good, and protest ICE's murder of her. There was also a similar candle light vigil held in Brookings, SD at the same time. These vigils were dignified, peaceful, quiet, and sang a few songs.
Sadness, anger, and a tiny dash of hope...
ReplyDeleteBill, there were over 1,000 demonstrations nation-wide to protest the ICE killing.
DeleteAnd it looks very cold TFG.
ReplyDeleteYes, it was cold, about -1°C with a north wind making it feel even colder.
DeleteThere are no words ....
ReplyDeletereally really sad the whole situation and what has been going on. shameful.
ReplyDeletethecontemplativecat here. It is sad, and it will get sadder.
ReplyDeleteUna vigilia pacifica como protesta a la violencia desatada de forma absolutamente irresponsable por el ICE.
ReplyDeleteUn abrazo amigo y estoy con vosotros en esta vigilia.
The world is becoming more and more a cold, dark and scary place. It seems we are going from bad to worse. Still, to light a candle is better than cursing the darkness. Thanks for taking part in the "My Sunday Best" meme.
ReplyDeleteIt would be very hard to be calm at a vigil like this one. I would be very, very angry. The poor woman was murdered, and the Trump administration is lying about it.
