IH Metrovan
The Art Deco IH Metro Van was built largely unchanged from 1938 until 1969. It was designed by industrial designer Raymond Lowey who also designed the Studebaker Avanti and the classic Coke Cola bottle. It was called "Metro" because it was build by the Metro Company in Connecticut and shipped to Chicago's International Harvester Company for final assembly. Tens of thousands were built as it was the primary delivery van in the U.S.
