Old Vehicles, Havana

The blue car is a 1946-48 Chrysler Windsor, a luxury car in its day. Note the Che Guevara stickers on the headlights. Most of the old cars in Havana are used as Taxi Cabs to transport tourist around town. Some of them are held together with baling wire and hope, while others are completely restored. The truck is an unusual old vehicle as it is not a car. It is a 1951 Chevy half ton truck that looks to be in wonderful, restored condition. It isn't a Taxi, but obviously is used to make a living somehow.

Outflow Gates

A twenty-six foot diameter tunnel was bored from the north side of San Antonio to miles south of the city to keep the San Antonio river from flooding the downtown area as it has done many times in years past. From the inlet to this outlet there is a five hundred foot drop. This insures water will flow rapidly through this tunnel. Luckily I've never here during flooding or even any water flow through this tunnel.
