Servicing Engine 110
Engine 110 is a 1926 Baldwin 2-6-6-2t, the last engine of this type in active service in the world. With its four compound cylinders and twelve drive wheels it pulls a six passenger car train up the steepest hill of any railroad in the United States at a 4 to 6 percent grade on Tin Mine Hill between Hill City and Keystone, SD. The Black Hills Central Railroad operates The 1880 Train for train buffs and tourists.
